A little bit about me...
I am a licensed psychologist with 15+ years of experience. Much of this experience has been working with adults with multiple mental health struggles such as PTSD, Gender Dysphoria, Bipolar, Dissociative Identity Disorder, Schizophrenia and addictions. Over the years I have found a passion and talent for working with complex and attachment trauma and I feel that this is what I was put on this earth to do. I am passionate about helping people to let go of the pain of their past, live more fully in the present and develop hope for the future.
I identify as a cisgender, heterosexual female, and my pronouns are she/her/hers. I also identify as an intersectional feminist and I recognize there are many aspects of identity that shape each of our lives and experiences. Some of these layers include race, class, sexual orientation, gender/gender identity and ability/disability. I believe that Black Lives Matter and that Black Trans Lives Matter.
In my work with transgender, non-binary and gender expansive individuals I have found a passion for educating others to reduce stigma and increase understanding and acceptance. This work closely aligns with my values of social justice. This course grew out of an opportunity I had to partner with a local church, offering an educational series to parishioners who wanted to better understand understand gender diverse individuals and their experiences. The seed of this training grew and evolved from there.
I am an animal lover at heart, and dogs hold a special place. I have 4 dogs at home and one of them is learning to be a therapy dog. Sadie is a loving little girl who is often has brought joy to my clients and myself as she learns her role in the office.
