In this Training You Will:

Learn more than basic terminology, names and pronouns and gender neutral language.

Learn the historical context of gender identity, deep dive into dysphoria and all aspects of transitioning, and common mental health issues.

Increase your competence & comfort in working with gender diverse adults.

Learn a variety of therapy topics that may arise in this work, and be able to modify what you already do to enable a more positive therapeutic experience for trans & non-binary individuals.

In This Training You Will:

Get specific suggestions on ways to make your practice more welcoming and affirming from the waiting room, to paperwork, and how you market.

Get suggestions will be provided on how to be an ally and advocate for gender diverse clients in and out of the therapy office.

Be prepared to write letters in support of gender affirming medical care when needed.

Obtain ideas on related areas of growth, how to keep increasing your knowledge and competence.

 

In This Training You Will:

Watch client videos of therapy sessions with two clients allow you to hear their own lived experiences, thoughts, and influences on their gender identity.

Hear from a trans man's experience and one individual trying to figure out how exactly they identify and how that clarifies over time for them.

See a trans man's experience post bottom surgery and the issues that get triggered.

See an EMDR reprocessing session around internalized transphobia.

Learning objectives:
